It’s a passion, it’s a dream.

Everyone cooks in my family – men, women, and children. My mother and grandmother were both great cooks. As a little girl, I spent hours in the kitchen watching and learning. I will always be thankful to the great cooks in my life for giving me this gift. As my grandmother and mother passed down the love of cooking to their children, I will do the same with mine.

I was born and raised in France, and moved to the US in 1996. I spent 13 years as a stay-at-home mom raising my 4 wonderful children; Madeline, Jeremy, Margot and Jonathan. Now that they are all grown and in school, I have the time to realize my long-time dream to open an authentic French Café in my community.

The Maryland town of Sykesville was the perfect place to open the French Twist Café! Downtown Sykesville reminds me a lot of France, with its quaint and friendly European feel. While walking down Main Street, you will find many little stores, hair salons, antique stores, boutiques, and restaurants. The only thing missing was a place to meet and have a great cup of coffee!

I decided to fill this void and open a coffee shop in Sykesville; a coffee shop with a French flair called the French Twist Café. It was important for me to bring a little bit of my French culture to my community, so I decided to offer a full menu of savory and sweet crêpes to be eaten on-the-go or enjoyed in a cozy environment. They are delicious, fun to eat, nutritious, and also very French! This was the perfect choice!

I’m proud and excited to have opened the French Twist Café in downtown Sykesville and to be able to serve my community with extraordinary coffees and delicious French cuisine. I love meeting my customers and getting to know every single one of them, so stop in to say hello! I want you to feel welcome and comfortable, and enjoy Coffee, Crêpes and Conversation.
